The diner was unusually quiet that evening, but that was just a perk for the solitary RED Medic.
He sat alone at a booth, staring out the window as snowflakes gently drifted to the ground, hardly sticking at all. He sipped at his steaming cup of coffee, his eyelids slowly growing heavier and heavier.
He liked this Canadian town. It was quiet, not too far from Coldfront, and generally filled with pleasant folk. Plus, the coffee was good at this diner. Maybe not everything else, but… Friedrich only came for the coffee anyway.
It was good to get away for a while… get away from all the chaos at the base that the other men tended to stir up. When Demoman was particularly more drunk than usual, Friedrich took it as a sign to leave the base. He would always start asking questions, getting invasive… Friedrich was in no mood for such things.
He wouldn’t mind a little bit of company at the diner if someone showed up, though- but, in all likelihood, there wouldn’t be anyone there who would talk to him. And he was okay with that, too.
